Resources
The UNSW Water Research Centre’s resources are divided between two research nodes at Kensington and Manly Vale. At these locations the Centre has a range of analytical, hydraulic and physical laboratories and support instrumentation which are applied to different research programs. Many of these resources are detailed below.
Kensington
The Kensington water quality laboratories consist of a complex of seven laboratories which include advanced instrumental analyses capabilities used in environmental research. These seven labs are:
- Water quality and analysis laboratory
- Microbiology laboratory (PC2)
- Water chemistry laboratory
- Particle characterisation laboratory
- Radiation laboratory
- Odour laboratory
- Pilot hall facility
- Pilot Rigs
WRC staff have access and expertise in equipment held and managed by the UNSW Analytical Centre including the DOC Labor Liquid Chromatography – Trace Organic Carbon Detector (LC-OCD).
Manly Vale
The Water Research Laboratory continues to develop and maintain state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation to undertake its investigations. Such equipment includes the following:
